Celebrate the History of Christmas while you shop and dine!  The Fifth Annual Leesburg Nativity Tour promises to be our best ever!  An ideal Christmas activity for the whole family  during the continued caution for large crowds due to Covid.    Leisurely stroll through historic Leesburg visiting shops and restaurants displaying the Nativity Tour Poster.  Sometimes the nativity will be displayed in a front window, other times venture into the store to search for it.   Pick up up the promotion card and get it stamped at participating merchants.  Fill up your card and get a free treat from Trinity House Cafe.

The 2020 Tour will be announced in Mid November.  Nativites will be displayed from December 2 - 30.  

What is The Leesburg Nativity Tour? 

Similar to a garden our house tour, the Leesburg Nativity Tour is a self guided tour.  Visitors may stop by as many or as few  shops or restuarants as their schedule permits.  No purchase is necessary.  All merchants welcome the public to view the nativity on display in their establishment.

Lenders

Individuals with special nativities are invited to share their nativity with the community during the Christmas shopping season.
Contact Patricia Phillips if you have a nativity to share.  
Every effort is made to protect your nativity while it is on loan.  Lenders are encouraged to participate in setting up the nativity at the selected merchant.

Merchant Hosts

Stores and restaurants are invited to display a nativity from Dec 2- 30 , 2020.  Twelve merchants will be featured on the tour for displaying nativities unique in material or design.   All Merchants displaying nativities will be listed on the Mobile App and this website.   Featured Merchants will be highlighted in a printed brochure and media releases.

2020 Nativity Ornament

Introducing the  5th annual Nativity Tour Ornament. Each year we offer a customized ornament that forcuses on the Nativity.  This year we focus on the star that led the wise men to Bethelem to find the infant Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament.  
A limited number are availabe for purchase for $15 at selected Merchants participating in the Leesburg Nativity Tour.

The History

In 1223 St. Francis  of Assisi lamented that  Christmas had become materialistic !  Imagine that 800 years ago.  (And Americans thought we invented materialism)  He created a representation of what the birth of Christ was like, to help people understand that solemn event:  God the son, came to earth as a new born baby.
